Firm’s
History
In 1978, Traut Firm was founded by James Traut, Eric’s brother. With values based on litigation expertise, accessibility, connections, and results, Traut Firm made a name for itself in personal injury law by taking cases that other lawyers would not. This would be the foundation of the firm’s success.
While studying Communications at Cal State Fullerton, Eric began working at Traut Firm in the 80s. Studying to become a newscaster or Radio DJ, Eric did not see himself becoming a lawyer. Says Eric, “Watching Jim and the other lawyers in trial quickly changed my mind.” Eric continues, “I was hooked.” After graduating from law school and passing the California Bar, Eric joined Traut Firm in 1990.
In 2011, Traut Firm moved from its original location at 1212 North Broadway to its current location – Griffin Towers, 5 Hutton Centre Drive, Suite 700 in Santa Ana, California. What started as two lawyers and a support staff of five is now six lawyers and a support staff of 10. Traut Firm has a reputation for success with over 250 jury trials and over 100 six and seven-figure verdicts and
settlements.
